OBILJEŽAVANJE I MARKIRANJE ORUŽJA

OBILJEŽAVANJE I MARKIRANJE ORUŽJA

MARKING OF WEAPONS

Pursuant to Article 7, items 1 and 2 of the Convention on Mutual Recognition of Small Arms (Brussels Convention) of 23 May 1973, the accession of the SFR Yugoslavia to the Convention entered into force, making the SFRY a full member of the Standing International Commission for the Examination of Small Arms firearms (CIP).

At present, Montenegro does not have an institution that has the technical capacity to mark weapons. With the support of UNDP, Zeta Car, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Montenegro, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Montenegro and Montenegro Defense Industry Podgorica, will procure the necessary equipment and employ professional staff for marking weapons.

The plan of our company is to significantly expand the business space, to procure sophisticated computer and measuring equipment in order to efficiently perform all activities and meet market needs. The adoption of the Law on Marking of Weapons and relevant bylaws is expected, which will fully regulate this activity in accordance with the C.I.P. standards.

We are facing a new beginning and we believe that Montenegro will be able to apply for accession to the Brussels Convention in the coming period. By joining, we would become a member of the Standing International Commission for the Testing of Small Arms and Ammunition, and thus we would be recognized with international trademarks.
